Music usage policy for Kurokotei / 黒皇帝

This document’s goal is to provide guidelines on common use cases regarding the use of my music. Please note that the contents of this document may change over time.

Important notes

• Unauthorized redistribution / reupload is forbidden. This includes reuploading to platforms such as SoundCloud / Newgrounds / YouTube / etc.
• The following tracks do not apply to these guidelines:
  • honeykill
  • LIVHT MY WΔY (Kurokotei Remix)
  • Pillars of Ash
  • Le Porteur d’Ombre
  • ⠀
  • Deus Judicium
• Artworks related to the tracks do not fall into the scope of this document. Please contact the artists of the artworks directly for permission / licensing if you plan to use them.

Community usage (community games, derivative works, usage in videos, etc.)

You may freely use my music for community games such as osu! or StepMania for example, as well as use it as background music for videos / streams. You may also freely make derivative works out of it (covers, remixes, etc.). However, please include my name in the description as well as a link to one of my socials (Twitter or SoundCloud for example) if possible. Please also bear in mind that while I do allow for remixes to be used, you do this at your own risk; if the original artist of the track is asking for a takedown, I will not be able to do anything about it.

Some tracks have also been officially licensed for usage in osu!, feel free to use them for that game: https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmaps/artists/58

Non-commercial games

You may use my music for a USD 50 fee per track as long as the game is entirely non-profit and the music is not locked behind a paywall. The following restrictions apply:

• Remixes are excluded from the scope as I do not entirely possess the rights to these. This includes Touhou remixes (Galaxy Collapse and Scattered Faith most notably). However, if you got permission from the original artist to use the song, please send me an email with a receipt of the permission and I will allow it.
• For collaborative tracks please get permission from all artists involved.
• You must send me gameplay images / videos of your game, or at least a work in progress before using the track. As the number of games asking for permission has greatly increased during the past few months, this is a way for me to ensure that the project is serious.

Please send me an email (kurokotei[at]protonmail.com) or a Twitter DM (@dialgadu77) with the tracks you want to license as well as the aforementioned information if you are in that use case.

Others (commercial use, commissions, etc.)

For other situations please contact me directly by sending me an email (kurokotei[at]protonmail.com) or a Twitter DM (@dialgadu77). Please note that I may not always receive Twitter DMs, especially if your account is new.
